“The Lanka Japan Friendship Society (LJFS) commemorated their 57th AGM at the Sasakawa Cultural Centre Auditorium on 10th June 2016 at 6pm with His Excellency Kenichi Suganuma, Ambassador for Japan & Patron LJFS, as the Chief Guest.
The days program commenced with the Business Session with the President, LJFS warmly welcoming the members present. The minutes of the last AGM were then confirmed and the Annual Report and Audited Statement of Accounts were duly adopted. Tudor V. Perera & Co, Chartered Accountants were then appointed as Auditors For the ensuing year.

The Ceremonial Sessions commenced with the arrival of the Chief Guest His Excellency Kenichi Suganama and Madame Akiko Suganuma, lighting of the ceremonial oil lamp, and playing of the National anthems of Sri Lanka and Japan. A group photograph of the new EXCO was also taken.
A brief ceremony followed when the society presented a Desktop computer And Japanese books to the Embassy of Japan, to upgrade the “Japanese Corner” at the Colombo Public Library. After the usual speeches by the President,LJFS, The Patron and the General Secretary, the ceremonial sessions were terminated For fellowship, networking and a Sri Lankan buffet dinner. ”
