The Lanka Japan Friendship Society (LJFS) held a “Pinkama” (A Buddhist meritorious event) on Sunday 30th June 2024 at the Gangarama Buddhist Temple, Colombo 2, to invoke blessings on the late Dr. Sara de Silva, beloved daughter of LJFS EXCO Member Dr. PHP & Junko de Silva and on the late mother of Sunitha Wijepala.

“Pansil”, prayers and blessings were invoked by the Venerable Bakmitiyawe Dhammananda Thera.

“Atapirikara” (an offering given to Buddhist temples as an offering to the Lord Buddha) was donated by Jayaraja Chandrasekera/VP and the event was organized by Sunitha Wijepala/VP/LJFS. Present were Dr. PHP & Junko de Silva, Shanthi Piyasena, A. Anandagoda/VP, M. Thiyagaraja,/ Gen Treasurer, Nishanthi Galhena, Himani Wijemanne, Kenji Inoue, 1st Secretary of the Japanese Embassy and Tony Saldin, President/LJFS.
