The Lanka Japan Friendship Society (LJFS) held a lecture on “Japan’s vision for Sri Lanka- An Ambassador’s perspective” oh 26th July 2024, the second in the series at the Sasakawa Cultural Centre Auditorium to a full house with over 150 persons, comprising diplomats, businessmen, politicians, government officials and the general membership of the LJFS.
The speaker was His Excellency Mizukoshi Hideaki, Ambassador for Japan in Sri Lanka.
The Project Chairman was Dr. Rohan Pallewatte, who was assisted by IPP/Vice Patron Merrick Gooneratne, General Secretary Samadara Mampitiye, Mahendra de Vaz and the rest of the team.
The LJFS also took this opportunity to recognize Dr. Vijaya Corea, a Past Vice President and EXCO member for his yeoman service to the society for over 3 decades, by awarding him the “LJFS Life-time Achievement Award”. The award was made by His Excellency the Ambassador for Japan.
A lively question and answer session followed the lecture which culminated with cocktails, networking and dinner.
