INTER-ASSOCIATION AVURUDU FUNDAY
The Lanka Japan Friendship Society (LJFS) together with the Sri Lanka-America Society (SLAS), Sri Lanka-UK Society (SLUKS), Sri Lanka-Australia New Zealand Association (SLANZA) and the Royal Commonwealth Society (RCS), organized a “Joint Avurudu Funday” picnic on Sat 25th April 2026 at the Suriya Resorts Hotel, Waikkal for their members and guests.
Mr. Eric Suriyasena, President of SLANZA who is also an LJFS member, is the Chairman of Suriya Resorts. Nearly 100 persons from the above 5 associations participated and had a day of fun, games, and dancing with many prizes. A sumptuous buffet lunch was arranged by the hotel.
Members took part in traditional “Avurudu games” as well. The afternoon culminated with the selection of the winners of the Baila competition – both male and female. This year there were many prizes which were awarded to those present on a raffle draw. .All in all, it was a day of fun and enjoyment.
